Membership Protocols

 

Purpose:

To let applicants, new members and existing members know what it takes to become a full member of the Philadelphia Area Paranormal Society or maintain membership in the Philadelphia Area Paranormal Society. 

 

Methods:

• We look for applicants that fit our beliefs (they don't have to be exact) and who are dedicated
• Apply only if you intend to follow through. We don't  want to waste your time or have ours wasted either
• All perspective members must fill out an application. No exceptions
• All perspective members must provide a picture. This is for the safety of the group and will be used for ID badges if/when you become a member. No exceptions.
• The interview process is as follows : Initial contact is by email or phone. If  both parties are interested in pursuing the process further an in person interview will be scheduled. This will preferably take place in a public location so neither party feels uneasy thus hopefully making the interview process easier
• If  the applicant is accepted the process to full membership is as follows : (3) formal investigations
• INVESTIGATIONS: PLEASE DO NOT bring a spouse, boyfriend/girlfriend, friend, significant other, pet dog that fits in a purse or an invisible friend if they are not currently a member of the group.....and no we don't allow animals and invisible friends in the group :)  Please understand that this would cause complete chaos if everyone does this.  If you want to bring someone they must have applied and been accepted into the group PRIOR to an investigation. No exceptions.
• Any request for dual-membership will be reviewed on a case by case basis (in general our policy is to allow dual membership)
• If dual-membership starts to adversely affect your participation in group activities we may ask you to make a choice as to which group you want to fully participate in
• If invited on an investigation by another group we request out of common courtesy that you notify us (in general our policy is you are free to go on other investigations other than with the Philadelphia Area Paranormal Society but we request notification of your intent to do so for scheduling purposes etc)
